Matt's Emergency Housing Fund

Matt Whitt was one of the victims of the August 2012 shooting at Fred's Discount Store in Rainsville, AL. Matt was shot in the back, leaving a bullet lodged in his spine. Since this time, Matt has experienced a number of difficulties, including learning to walk again, with the use of a cane. He has been unable to work since the incident, suffering from chronic pain, as well as the emotional trauma of PTSD. Matt has applied for disability income through Social Security, but it is bogged down in bureaucratic red tape. Unfortunately, with no income and no prospects, Matt finds himself homeless. He was evicted from his apartment, having all his furniture, clothing and possessions seized by the landlord. Through the kindness of strangers, Matt has been able to stay at a local motel, but he is down to his last night. He has applied for housing through the Boaz Housing Authority, but is currently on a waiting list. I am asking for help for Matt. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
