Matt & Missy's move out fund

Donation protected
I need your help. Matt and Missy, my son and daughter-in-law, are having a hard time with their landlords. The rental that they live in is in Buford, and is owned by Bradley W. Weeks and Adam B. Gower who also live in Buford. These landlords were renovating the home when Matt and Missy signed the lease, and they assured Matt and Missy that the renovation would continue after they moved in.

Predictably, the renovation stopped as soon as they moved in. The house was supposed to be a four bedroom (Matt and Missy have 4 full-time and 1 part-time children), but 1/2 of the house is unlivable, so they are stuck living in 3 rooms. There are electrical wires hanging from the sagging ceiling, parts of the subfloor are rotting out, at least one window doesn’t close completely, the house has no air conditioner and no heat. The steps off the carport are broken and one of the children has fallen and hurt her leg on them.

Their children are 14 months, 4 years, 5 years, and 2 of them are 8 years old. They’ve contacted Adam Gower multiple times since Hurricane Irma (when the temperatures dropped into the 30’s) to request that the heat be fixed. Currently the radiator grill is broken and Matt and Missy are having to cover it with an old door to keep any of the kids from falling in and getting hurt.

Mr. Gower has shown no intent to repair the heat. He expressed the same thing to my husband when he called him a few minutes ago to ask him when they plan to make sure the kids have heat. Matt and Missy are young parents who work hard to support their family and can’t afford to pay a deposit on another house right now.

Matt and Missy have been trying to get the landlords to let them out of the lease, and return their deposit so that they can find something else, but they won’t release them from the lease.

Will you help us raise enough money to help them move out of the sub-par home that they are living in?  They've found a decent 3BR/2BA home for $625 per month.  $1200 will give them enough to get into this new home.  The temps are steadily lowering and I expect that they'll need to be out of their current home within the next few weeks.  I'm setting the deadline for this fund at two weeks, or November 17th.

Thank you for your help!
