One of our good mates Matt Taylor has recently been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS).
At just 39 and suffering from symptoms of fatigue, pins and needles and double vision, along with experiencing incidences of falling over and bumping into things, these are obviously very challenging times.
Faced with a less than positive future, Matt is taking the bold step of travelling to Russia (Moscow) to be treated by world leading specialist Dr Fedorenko.
As Matt explains he can't simply just sit idly and take his prescribed pills here at home when the Russian treatment has proven so successful for others.
The Stem Cell Transplantation procedure has halted the disease in hundreds of MS sufferers all over the world (including fellow locals Irene Trezise and Beth Berk) and is available in Russia, Singapore, India, USA, Canada and Mexico – but not in Australia.
Dr Fedorenko is the pioneer of this treatment and offers the best results at a fraction of the cost of some other countries. However such treatment still doesn’t come cheap and Matt will need $80,000 to cover his costs.
Realistically this is Matt's once chance to secure his future and we are going all out to help him do that while further raising awareness about this awful condition.
