Matt Mika was an innocent victim in the June 14, 2017 shootings in Alexandria, Virginia. The incident occurred while Matt was volunteering as a team coach at a practice in preparation for a charity baseball game. As an avid baseball player and Detroit Tigers fan, his passion lies on the baseball field, and this annual ball game is an event he looks forward to every year.
Although Matt has been incredibly strong, the road to recovery is going to be long and will require not only love and prayers, but also financial support from friends, family, the Washington DC community, and beyond. Contributions of any amount will go a long way to ease the undeserved burden on both Matt and his family. The assistance Matt and his family needs is increasing by the day, so any contribution is greatly appreciated.
