Matt Henderson House Fire

At approximately 8:30 am Ben Bolt Firefighters were called out for a house fire on the 300 block of Freeman Street in Ben Bolt. The firefighters were on their way to conduct fire prevention week presentations at the local elemantary school when they were redirected to the fire. Upon arrival a single story home was found to be on fire with flames emitting from the windows of the home.
All occupants were out of the home and not injured. Alice firefighters were called in to assist. The homeowner is a volunteer firefighter in Ben Bolt. His wife and toddler lived in the home. The house was completely destroyed in the interior. All clothing and contents of the home were also destroyed by the fire. Ben Bolt firefighters are going to be assisting the family by helping them get back on their feet. "This person has donated his time helping others and preparing to protect his community, now its the communities turn to help him." Said Chief Patrick J. Thomas. "We appreciate everything he has done for our department and we are not going to leave him alone in his time of need." The Ben Bolt Fire Department has called in the Red Cross for immediate assistance and will be coordinating relief efforts for the family.
