Get MAT Mobile Van Up & Running!

MAT Mobile Van is one of the winning ideas that came out of the GE /MGH Sponsored Opioid Hack-a-thon in Boston from September 9th till September 11th 2016. Our group was formed by people in recovery and health professionals working in Greater Boston.
Since being chosen as one of the winning teams we've had a lot of forward momentum and have had organizations contacting us to help coordinate together to make the idea happen.
The basic idea behind MAT Mobile  is to provide harm reduction education and supplies ALONG with life-saving medication assisted treatment on demand to the communities and neighborhoods most impacted by the Opioid Crisis in MA.
We will be linking people into immediate and long-term care either at the van locations or at offices around Greater Boston depending on the needs of the individuals.
Along with providing medication assisted treatment we will be offering harm reduction supplies to people who aren't ready to stop using, referring to detox beds and other out-patient and in-patient treatment, along with providing referrals to necessities that many homeless folks need to survive and better their lives.
Eventually we hope to help other already-existing medical vans with including medication assisted treatment (MAT) as another tool available to offer support and recovery options to people when they want it and where they need it most.
