Victim of Shooting - Tina Frost

$611,904 of $50,000 goal

A good family friend, Tina Frost, was injured in the mass shooting in Las Vegas on October 1st.

This is a message from Mary Watson Moreland (her mother) on Tina's condition updated on October 2nd:
"Tina is out of surgery and her vitals are stable. They removed her right eye, where the bullet was lodged, and there is an implant there now to keep the space open. She has sight in her left eye but will never see from the right again. They took out a bone from her forehead to allow the brain room to swell, that will stay out for a few months. She's in a coma and on a ventilator, she cannot breathe on her own. She's critically stable in ICU for at least a week. Over the next few days, they're going to see how she responds to simulation, but until then, we won't know how bad the brain damage is.”

We are raising money to cover all expenses related to this tragic event such as traveling, food, hotels, missed work, and caring for Tina.

Update from Tina’s family-

Thursday, February 8, 2018
Hi everyone. Well today is the eight week mark since Tina walked out of her inpatient rehabilitation center. During these past eight weeks, Tina has continued to progress in her marathon of recovery. She is working hard, gaining strength, going to her therapies four times a week, walks on the treadmill and helps with cooking and little things around the house. She enjoys having friends over and is getting out to the movies and restaurants. With her positive attitude and smile, and her family and friends surrounding her with love and support, we feel her marathon is going to be amazing. She is continuing her rehab therapies and will be having additional surgeries this spring in preparation for her prosthetic eye down the road. Until then, we will continue what we are doing and again thank you for all your love, support and prayers.

Update from Tina’s family-

12/10/17 - Hi everyone, well another HUGE milestone for our Tina. She walked out of the inpatient rehabilitation hospital two days ago, got into Austin’s car and will have several days off from all of the doctors, nurses, therapists,
dieticians, technicians and everyone else who knocks on her door “every five minutes”. She can enjoy her family and friends and some normalcy and doing some more on her own. We will continue therapies on an outpatient basis and she continues to get a lil stronger and better every day.

We hope you all have a wonderful holiday season as we are planning to and have a lot to celebrate and be thankful for.

Although we appreciate all the support, Tina doesn’t like being the center of attention. Please respect her privacy and feelings and not make a big deal of it if you see her out and about. She (and we) can be emotional these days and we want her to be able to acclimate herself to non-hospital life as smoothly as possible.

The power of being strong, courageous, patient and determined by Tina along with Austin, all her family, friends and supporters like you will keep this uphill marathon of a miracle moving in the right direction. Thank you for all your visits, calls, messages and prayers for our Sweet Tina.

11/29/17 - As we approach the two month mark on the horrific event that has affected so many lives, we’d like to let you all know that Tina is again making strides on her marathon.

She left the wonderful hospital at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore yesterday and is now at a rehabilitation center. Tina has been meeting the team and getting underway with even more intense and focused therapies.

To all of our family, friends, supporters and followers, we thank you so much for your endless support and prayers!

Update from Tina’s family-

11/21/17 - We have been very busy since our last week’s post surgery update, and have been trying to help Tina get back to making forward progress on her marathon. Unfortunately, she has had a few road bumps since the surgery, as we have always been forewarned might happen.

Now that Tina’s forehead has been reconstructed, her brain is more constricted and her emotions are getting the best of her, and quite honestly, us as well. Her physical, occupational and psychological therapies have slowed down significantly, but her speech therapy is still going well and we hope to end her dependence on the trache any day now.

We are hopeful that the post surgery setbacks will cease soon and she can pick up some more forward momentum. Thanks again for all your prayers, love, compassion and well wishes! Have a good holiday and be truly thankful for all the good things we all have in our lives.
