Mary Ferguson v. Sitka Police

Mary Ferguson is a 31 year old Tlingit woman who was born and raised in Sitka, Alaska. Her children attend the Sitka School District. She has worked for the Sitka Police Department for approximately 4 years. Mary is the only female sworn officer in the Sitka Police Department.
Mary was working felony level cases and was also working closely with other agencies, like the FBI. She had a track record of success and she is passionate about helping the citizens of Sitka.
Recently, Mary complained to the City of Sitka about gender discrimination and sexual harassment in the Sitka Police Department. Her hope was to improve the Police Department so that other women and people of color could join the force and serve the people of Sitka. But, after Mary complained, she was retaliated against, demoted from detective to night patrol and placed on administrative leave.
Mary has now sued the Police Department over its misconduct. She needs help. Fighting the City of Sitka and trying to reform the Sitka Police Department is an overwhelming task. The City will spend thousands of dollars on their lawyers in an effort to defeat Mary.
