The Martins Go To Mayo

Gracie Martin here. As friends and family, you might be aware that I have battled chronic health issues for much of my life. The predominant issues I deal with are Psoriasis, Psoriatic Arthritis, and Fibromyalgia. As of 2014 I began noticing pain in my lower back and weakness in my legs, which became numbness and - at times - the inability to walk. God has sustained my husband Jacob and I through this in ways only He could! He truly makes a way where there is no way.
Flash forward to 2015 and the Lord has blessed us with a healthy, smiley, joyous baby boy! Baby M has quickly become the best part of our days, and certainly the most wiggly!
Throughout the pregnancy my symptoms became worse, and continued to do so after our son's
delivery. Jacob and I have sought the counsel of many physicians to try and pinpoint exactly what is causing my legs to become as weak as they are, and what is causing the psoriasis on my skin to flare viciously despite many methods of treatment. This results in near debilitating pain, and I am often unable to hold my son to me due to the pain of being touched. It is because of these symptoms I was recently referred to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
Our initial appointment has been scheduled for Wednesday, December 30th. What we know now is that I am being seen first by the Neurology department, and the team of physicians treating me will develop a plan of action from there. As frustrating as it is for us to have such limited information, we trust the Lord knows exactly what lies ahead for us and are fixing our eyes on Him.
This is where family comes in. We are doing everything we can on our end to save up for this trip, but we simply are in need of help to get to Mayo. Any contribution made will go to cover the cost of travel/lodging, medical consultations and testing, and treatments that may come as a result of any diagnoses made.
I cannot express how thankful we are for your prayerful consideration. We trust in the Lord completely and know He will make a way, and are truly humbled and unbeilievably thankful to have His church to lean on during this time. Thank you all for you prayers, your help, and your support.
