My name is Martha Vallado, Martinas daughter. While my mother was shopping in a local grocery store in Cedar Hill, TX, tragedy struck. As she was leaving the store with her food basket, from what we know, a person on an SUV ran her over. She was unable to breath under the SUV for 20 minutes before medical responders arrived. When responders arrived she was found dead and went on to apply CPR and she came back to life for 5 minutes.
She was transported to two different hospitals before she received medical aid but to no avail, being without oxygen and the trauma of being crushed under an SUV left her in a coma. She fought for her life but finally gave in due to her injuries this past Tuesday, June 13th, 2017 at 4:48PM. She left behind her husband, myself (22 years), my two singlings (16 and 14 years of age).
At times life is unfair. We have no control of what life brings us but we do over how we react. Amidst my agony I want the world to know about my mother’s legacy. She was a warrior and never gave up. Since birth she taught my sinblings and I good values. My mother was a Christian woman and a faithful church attendee who always helped out those in need, even with the little she had. It’s difficult for us as a family that she’s not with us any longer but we will continue her legacy and the mark she left us to not depart from our spiritual values and to be productive citizens.
I hope if you are reading this, with my heart on my hand and speaking for my family, we are needing your help. We were not prepared for the funeral and living expenses that occur after such a tragedy. If God touches your heart, anything is gladly accepted.
