Markos Huerta Scholarship Fund

Marhos (Markos) Huerta [18 years old], is the beloved son of Silvia and Rafael Huerta, an amazing older brother of two younger siblings, and a caring cousin to many of his cousins. Terribly and tragically, Markos had passed away this past weekend; he passed way before his time. This earth had lost an amazingly positive and happy soul who had a major impact on all of those around him. He was the light of every situation, and his smile instantly made anyone in the area smile. This gofundme is to help the Huerta family establish a scholarship fund that will be in Markos's name to help students as he would have given the opportunity.
Markos was also a Proud Little Brother of Nu Alpha Kappa Fraternity, Inc. at the Kappa Chapter, UC Davis. Markos was a part of the Tau Class where he was elected President. He showed tremendous work ethic, discipline and outstanding leadership. His initiative and proactive thought at his age was and is remarkable. He will be inducted into NAK's Omega Chapter that is reserved for our fallen brothers.
Markos was a first year at UC Davis studying Neurology, Physiology and Behavior in hopes of one day becoming a world-renowned Plastic Surgeon with his own practice. He wanted to become a plastic surgeon because he said he knew what it was like to have insecurities and he wanted to help others fix their insecurities and make them happy.
He was a model student. He very studious and attended many office hours with professors to ensure that he understands the subject matter. His main motivation was his hardworking father, amazing mother, and being a role model for the rest of his family. Family was everything to Markos, and he had many stories about him and his various of cousins.
Aside from school and family, Markos considered himself a sneakerhead, in which he enjoyed collecting shoes and learning about their history. He really enjoyed basketball, going on adventures, exploring new things, and hanging out with family and friends.
