MARIONETTES, INC Student Film
Dear Friends and Family,
I have wanted to be a filmmaker since I was twelve years old, watching the "behind the scenes" featurettes of all my favorite movies. Now, as a sophomore at Sarah Lawrence College, I'm finally where I dreamed I would be-- creating my very own stories with professional equipment in an educational environment. But to me, film is about more than telling stories-- art reflects and affects what we value, how we speak, what we believe.
This semester, I'm taking a class called Advanced Projects. In place of a final exam, we turn in a final cut of a film we spend all semester writing, planning, auditioning, directing, and editing. My film, MARIONETTES, INC, adapted from the short story by sci-fi author Ray Bradbury, mirrors and comments on the cultural anxiety about personal freedom and imprisonment within marriage.
In order to make this film and tell this story, I need your help! Donations for this campaign will be used for the many expenses that are part of producing a short film. I have made the budget as small as possible, so all donations will be going primarily towards:
-providing 3 days worth of meals, water, and caffeine to the actors and crew (who are working for free)
-train/subway/uber fare in and out of Bronxville for the actors, who will be traveling from NYC
-props and set dressings necessary to tell the story
-costumes
Shooting days are April 8,9, and 11th, so any donations you are able to give are most appreciated by April 5, so I know for sure how much funding I have to work with.
Thank you so much to friends and family who have supported my dream thus far, and those who continue to support me on this project. I greatly appreciate the contributions without which MARIONETTES, INC would not be possible!
