On Monday May 21st, 2018, my loving mom went to work and did not make it back home. Monday morning, I left to go to work around 6 am in the morning and left my mom getting ready to head out to her training at work. I usually talk to her everyday around 5pm when I’m getting off work but that afternoon she did not answer her phone, nor did she respond back to my messages. Since she usually works overnight, I just thought she had taken a shift after her training and completely dismissed the fact she did not answer it. Tuesday midday, one of my siblings called to ask me why mom is not answering her phone or responding back ad I let them know I will find out when I get off work. As soon as I got off work, I tried calling her and calling her, her place of work as well as all her friends. No one had heard from her since Monday morning. That’s when I went to the police station to file a missing person report and within a few hours, they had found my mother in her car parked in the garage of her workplace with her inside.
My mom was a healthy nurse and the most loving human being I have ever known. She accepted everyone as they were and always made everyone feel at home in her presence. She was as jovial as any 43-year-old woman would be. There were no signs of illness nor did she ever complain of any ailments.
Her sudden death has left our family saddened and baffled as to the cause. We are left to plan for an event every human being avoids thinking of- laying one's mother to rest.
As we await police investigations, my father, 3 siblings, and I are seeking any help you can provide to deal with this tragedy. We are planning to take my mother back to Kenya where she will be buried. Any way that you can help us will be greatly appreciated.
