After 10 years of a Misdiagnoses, our Son Marcus was finally Diagnosed With CHIARI MALFORMATION.
He suffered for years with high fevers,dizzy spells ,vomitting uncontrolable , unable to walk and horrible miagraines that he tried to hide among other things i could go on and on!!! But through all that he kept a smile through the pain , Chiari is a structual
Defect in the base of the brain and cerebellum. Left untreated can be fatal and will cause paralaysis or death, Also the spinal cord remsins open in one area in the back and lower spine. Inconclusion Our son is 17years old has been a foofball and basketball player and will Graduate next year. Wehave beem through many test over the years and it always was missed because children this age are usually are not diagnoses until late 20 or early 30's. so here we are now we have exausted our funds on meds ,hospitalizations ECT.. HE will need Physical Therapy among a hospital bed and other thing in order to recover properly. WE HAVE NEVER REACHED OUT BEFORE BUT WE ARE NEEDING ASSISTNCE now! his surgery is JULY 16 and will also have 2 PRE OP appts WITH Dr. H . which all will be medical cost we have exausted. HIs recovery time will be 3 months as long as he recovers properly, if you know our son you will know he has the most contagious SMILE and is just a goof ball > if you cannot donate please just pray for him and our family that we cane raise the funds needed for his surgery and therapy also the things he will need to recover .
