March for Science Ann Arbor

We are the organizers of the March for Science in Ann Arbor on Apri 22nd, 2017. This is a sister march partnered with 100+ other marches across the United States and the world to celebrate science, information, and technology and the people that make it all possible. Anyone and everyone is welcome to join us in showing support for scientific research, technological and medical advancements, and scientists, researchers, lab managers, volunteers, and the curious minds of the next generation.
To plan this march, we need and appreciate your support. Below is a breakdown of expected expenses to coordinate and plan the march.
Updated April 14th: Bolded=funds used already
* Liability insurance, $742
* Flyers and supplies, $100
* City of Ann Arbor permit fee, $34
* Sound system & lectern rental, $1000
* Banners, $120
* T-shirts to identify event volunteers & coordinators during the march, $250
* Art supplies for signs and banner, $250
*ASL interpreter fees, $250
* Misc. expenses (including first aid kits, supplies for volunteers, and unforeseen expenses), $750
≈ $3500
We will know more about the necessary accommodations as we move forward with the planning process. Updates will be posted periodically on this campaign to show our supporters where their donations are going. If any money is left over after the march has ended, it will be donated to a yet-to-be-determined non-profit group that supports the quest for scientific knowledge and the curiosity of kids.
