Help Manna ~ From Hunger to Hope
Try and imagine what it feels like to be hungry and worried about how to provide your family's next meal.
When you are hungry, it's hard to think about anything else. It's hard to learn, work, love, laugh, sleep or stay healthy. Hunger stunts physical growth and school readiness. And it is touching more families than ever.
In fact, 1 in 4 children in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties don't have access to healthy food or enough food.
Every month, Manna provides 25,379 meals for 890 families.
But it is not enough. In April 2014, the flood destroyed all of Manna's equipment and food, and made their current space unusable for the long term future.
We need your help in raising the $1 million needed to make the new facility the solution that is needed to serve our families that are hungry. We want to move them from hunger to hope.
Manna continues to find ways to solve community hunger through the Tummy Bundles Program, Healthy Senior Monthly Food Program, and partnering with Gulf Coast Kid's House.
We know we can do more. We know more is needed. Our new space will provide opportunities to enhance these programs and create new ones.
In 2015, Manna helped 20,303 people in need, and that still left others without resources. With this new building, we will have 23,000 square feet of hope under one roof, ready to educate, serve and partner with children, families, seniors and military that are in need.
When you donate towards our goal of $135,000, you make it possible for hungry children to be fed.
You make it possible to create change in our community through food related education.
You make it possible for seniors not to have to decide between buying their medication or something to eat.
You make it possible to move our community from hunger to hope.

"From Hunger to Hope" – these four words pack a powerful message.
While it means that we’ll continue the work we’ve been doing for 34+ years in our community – providing food to the hungry – it also means that Manna wants to do more than just provide help through a bag of groceries.
At Manna, we’re committed to providing the healthiest food we can to those in need.
But we also know that to solve hunger, it takes more …. More collaborations and partnerships with agencies in our community who are also addressing the root causes of hunger and working one on one with clients …. More access to healthy food for kids and seniors and poor families who rely on the convenience store for the majority of their groceries ….
More focus on identifying AND connecting clients to community resources that can help them find sustainable solutions to complex problems.
Moving people From Hunger to Hope means investing more of our time, talents and resources into approaching the problem of hunger in a more holistic approach. One of the lynchpins in this plan is to relocate our operations to our new home at 3030 North E Street.
Manna isn’t about a building …. Manna really isn’t even about food …. Manna IS about people – your neighbors and mine – that struggle every day to have enough food to eat right here in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties.
But we must have a building in order to accept, sort and distribute food to the 20,000+ people that we expect to help in this year alone. So many of you have joined us in our journey to get to 3030.
And every donation counts – whether it’s $5.00 or $500.00. I’m truly grateful to each of you who have contributed so far.
We’ve got a way to go to reach our goal but I know we will with the support of this incredibly giving and caring community.
U Make It Possible for us to move people From Hunger to Hope.
Thank you! DeDe
