Senior Cat Rescue Marathon

$48,385 of $50,000 goal

Raised by 517 people in 3 months
On June 17, I ran the Sixth Annual New York Cat Hospital SENIOR CAT RESCUE MARATHON! And as sole participant, I won...again!

ABANDONED or SURRENDERED at area shelters for being OLD, ILL, OR SIMPLY UNWANTED, countless sweet senior and special-needs cats are torn from the only homes they've known and placed in cages to await probable euthanasia.

But with your help many of these cats can have a SECOND CHANCE.  The dedicated rescue advocates below pull these cats from the kill lists, provide vital medical care, and place them in warm and welcoming foster and forever homes. Between them they've saved literally hundreds of loving, wonderful cats from a sad and unnecessary end.

Pictured above is sweet Rizzo, one such rescue who spent his final years happily showered with love and attention by the clients and staff of New York Cat Hospital.

Following previous "Midnight," "Manhattan," and "Tri-State" Marathons, this year's MANHATTAN BRIDGES MARATHON saw me traverse all 17 (yes, seventeen) pedestrian-accessible bridges that enter Manhattan. (So many! Who knew?)  Starting in Fort Lee, NJ, I crossed the GWB, then worked my way around upper Manhattan and down the East River ending with a pass across the Brooklyn Bridge.  Total distance was 32 miles.

All funds raised will go to Frankie's Feline Fund ( www.frankiesfelinefund.org), Ready for Rescue ( www.readyforrescue.org), and Paws Crossed Animal Rescue (www.pawscrossedny.org).

Please DIG DEEP to help these special cats, and SHARE SHARE SHARE on social media.  THANK YOU.

Pleased to report that donations have kept coming in even so many weeks after the run.

But it's just about time to close the campaign and deliver much needed funds to our friends at Frankie's Feline Fund, Ready For Rescue, and Paws Crossed Animal Rescue.

We're so very close to our goal of $50K. PLEASE IF YOU WOULD SHARE JUST A LITTLE BIT MORE...AND WE MIGHT JUST MAKE IT!

A final big THANKS to all the kind-hearted people whose donations will literally save the lives of wonderful senior and special needs cats.

Lastly, here's a link to a recent iHeart Radio interview with Jan Demko of the like-minded FL-based cat rescue organization "A Mew With A View": https://soundcloud.com/a_mew_with_a_view/seg-a-cat-chat-airs-8-10-2019-2500-music-out
