Medical Fund for Jay Family
This fund page was started at the urging of some very special people that have been with us along this unique and strange journey. First a thank you to all of you for the prayers, support and kindness through this time and a special shout out to the "Living Chandler Facebook" community as well as Lily Soto from Univision Arizona for helping us get the story out to educate others.
It all started in Chandler, Arizona when my husband (Thomas) took out the trash. He came running in to tell me that he had gotten bitten or stung by something he had never saw before. When we looked up the pictures, it closely resembled a "Solifugae "!
It started with one little round circle and became an emergency in a matter of hours! In between were an Urgent Care and two hospitals within a 24 period. We are stilling praying there are no long-term affects but there are still issues with the arm and more medical tests and doctors to see.
After being encouraged by many to start a gofundme page, we set aside our pride and realized that there are many wonderful people willing to help us overcome the upcoming medical costs associated with the many specialists, toxicologists, and handful's of others that were called into the hospital to review and study my husband Thomas.
We are overwhelmed that so many people care about a perfect stranger showing their humanity, goodness and support!
Some additional news links for those interested. We are combing through comments to research and try to understand what happened. Thanks to those who have provided valuable comments.

** Any funds raised that are additional to our medical expenses, we will be donating to the Banner Health Facility to further the research and education in hopes that we can help better fight these types of medical emergencies. **
The Jay-Petrov family.
We went from this to a death in the family so things got very busy for us.
What I want to first say is "Thank you" to all of you who commented and donated to help us overcome this burden. We have been so blessed with all of the love and support from everyone. The $1,035 donated really helped us overcome the hospital bills in a big way. We are still a little behind but know that God will continue to bless us and all of you.
My husband has been at the doctors, and in hospitals since. Seems the arm is not healing well and the affects are some organ damage causing him to go back to the hospital recently. Praying for healing. (Updated Picture included).
This has been a journey of education, love and a realization that there are SO many good people in the world today. With everything going on we pray for healing for all affected by the recent events.
Thank you again to all of you. Keep the comments coming, we are still trying to understand the affects and if ever what did this.
For those who are following sorry for the delay. My husband has had to go back to work and that requires travel so scheduling doctors appointments are not easy. So far we have found that his arm is weak and will require physical therapy to gain back his strength. Blood tests revealed that there has been an affect on organs as well.
Next Monday we have an appointment to review all of the records and tests and will hopefully learn more on the effects moving forward. Also the doctor will have reviewed the hospital records and maybe have more to add.
Since this started we (I) have learned so much and again am grateful for the support, love and donations ( thank you for the comments, shares and feedback, I am reading them: https://www.gofundme.com/man-vs-spider) that people have made to help us through this medical adversity. It's been a slow process and one month later we are still learning everything we can. Although this is a closed group I hope you can share the education and we can all learn more about the dangers and also the wonderful world we live in. There are so many of God's creatures that we learn about and are a benefit to our environment. On the other hand know your environment, be safe and be educated.
Thank you to those offering insight and taking the time to share your stories.
Recently, I had to go to Canada to to bury my step-dad which devastated our family and it reminded me How important it is to love one another and cherish those who are humanitarians. My love and thanks to you all who consider us in your prayers during a time where so many are suffering loss. Our hearts go out to families in the midst of many world crisis.
If I learn anything new next week I will update for sure. Please continue to share and educate. If anything it may save a life!
D, T & P
I realize many are not on the Facebook "Living Chandler closed group" and have asked for an update. I hope you see this.
Right now his bruises are healing well but he has little strength which the doctor says is normal, but there may be damage to the muscles and vessels and he may need physical therapy. The recent blood work and test results are back and we need to see the doctor for the updates. I don't know if anything was found out yet.....but I will update here as well.
I don't know if you can or wish to leave an email In Your comments, otherwise I am not sure how to respond individually to questions or comments on this site. But I'm reading them.
Thank you again from our family. Latest picture attached.
