Jean Gilles Mitial and his wife, Sheila, run the Maison-Rose Orphanage and Community School in Hinche, Haiti. They noticed young children in the streets without food, adequate clothing or care, and chose to provide them with a place where they can live and be properly cared for.

"About some history from me and my wife: So we started a ministry in our town Hinche, Haiti. It's about how we see orphan kids living and also the way that people treat some of them and also that some of them lost their Mom and Dad from the earthquake in 2010 in Haiti. Others lost their parents from some kind of sickness such as AIDS, Hunger, misery and also some of them live in the streets without any care or medicine or food.
That's why we took ten boys from the streets that were begging and we put them in a place where we can feed them daily. We also pay 3 people that work in the orphanage for cleaning, washing and cooking. We pay that person $50 US dollars per month but sometimes it's hard for us to feed the kids and also to pay the people that work in the orphanage because we don't have support to do all such things."

New clothes
It costs approximately $500 US dollars to run the orphanage monthly. This includes 3 meals per day for each child, clothing, shoes, bedding, and school supplies, etc. This also includes the $50 US dollars for the workers in the orphanage for cooking and cleaning.

Monetary donations are being raised to support the efforts of the Maison-Rose Orphanage and Community School. Donations are accepted in the form of US dollars and in items.
