Ashley is a single mom with two beautiful children, Madison age five and Preston age three.  Two weeks ago Madi was admitted to Phoenix Children's Hospital for an undiagnosed condition affecting her immune system.  After ten days in the hospital, Madi was released pending confirmation of test results. On Monday, October 29th, Madi’s 5th birthday, Ashley received the call from the doctors confirming what she feared most.  Madison’s second bone marrow biopsy was positive for Leukemia.

The type of cancer Madi has is called Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).  It's an aggressive blood cancer. It is fast spreading and represents about twenty percent of all childhood forms of leukemia.  Madi's doctors have told Ashley and Chris that the five year prognosis is 50/50. A few children do not survive the treatment because of how stressful it is on their cardiovascular system and immune system.   They are asking for your thoughts and your prayers. Please do not feel sorry for them. Feel positive and optimistic that Madi makes it through this with as little difficulty as possible. Hug your kids, go donate blood, be kind to strangers in Madi’s honor.  Live your life fully and know in your hearts that Madi will be a part of our lives for a long time to come!

 Family and Friends, It is time to rally for Madi and Ashley!
Ashley will be unable to work full time in her profession as a realtor because Madi's treatment requires that she be hospitalized for the better part of six to nine months.  Ashley will be in the hospital right beside her. Madi's doctors have said she can expect a short break away from the hospital every couple months but during these breaks, she will need to limit her exposure to other people including family members.  Madison will be severely neutropenic as a result of her extremely compromised immune system.   As Ashely and her  family live approximately 35 miles away from the hospital, Ashley will rent an apartment next to the hospital.   This will serve as a safe home space for Madi during her short breaks from treatment as well as respite for Ashley when she gets a break from fighting alongside Madi.  While we hope that most of the medical expenses will be covered by insurance, any procedures that are not covered will translate into greater financial burden since Ashely will be unable to work during Madi's treatment.   Our wish is to ease that hardship with any donations that we receive so that Ashley  may focus all of her energy and spirit towards Madi's healing.

We are dedicating this page to fund ongoing medical costs and everyday expenses for Madi’s treatment.  We are grateful for each contribution, as this page is not solely intended for financial reasons, but also to serve as support for Ashley and Chris while they navigate this difficult life challenge.  Share your stories of hope and words of encouragement as often as you feel moved to do so!

 Please continue to keep Madi and family in your prayers.

Isaiah 41:10
So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Today is Madi’s last day of Chemo this round!!!!! She will still be in the hospital for the next couple of weeks while she waits for her numbers to climb back up. Some days she’s of course not really herself tired and just over it, like we all would be. Then some days she’s her crazy fantastic self with her amazing imagination. Talking in different voices like she’s her oversized pink bear or telling grandma when she’s on the phone with her she’s on her way to target too. She definitely has the fight in her! We joke because our family has some tuff women and Madi is definitely leading the pack now a days! My sister is nothing short of amazing herself! I’m so proud of her the strength she has to hold it together for Madi. She’s there day in and day out watching her daughter, someone she loves unconditionally, go through these intense treatments. She’s the backbone for both of them. I don’t know how to describe it, it’s like they are one. Thank you everyone for the continued support and prayers, we are so grateful. -Whitney

Madi has had some much better days today and yesterday. Her friend came to visit her yesterday, definitely lifted her spirits. Today she is having a “Family Sunday” with cousins and grandparents loving on her. Grandma brought her some Disney princess outfits to dress up in once she’s feeling up to it we will post pictures. Thank you everyone for the continued prayers and support!

Madi isn’t having the best day today.. it’s hard to get her to smile. Her back is hurting and she’s just a little down today. Maybe the effects of the Chemo and not really understanding what’s going on right now. We are continuing to pray for her healing and praying for God to lift her spirits daily. We know her hair is going to fall out so today we had some FUN! We dyed it PINK! The nurses gave Madi a doll that has went through the same thing Madi has, she has a port and has lost her hair too. ‍♀️ #mymiraclemadi
