Twelve-year-old Mackenzie Hinson founded Make a Difference Food Pantry to ensure that no one in Goldsboro, NC goes hungry, particularly children and the elderly.
Mackenzie's tenacity and generosity demonstrate that age is no barrier to changing the world for the better.
The founders of the this page are a part of Team Rubicon's Operation Seymour Action. Our volunteers from every corner of the country were on the ground in Goldsboro for 21 days in the wake of Hurricane Matthew. Kenzie and her family spent countless hours making sure our group (over 133 volunteers) were fed. Her work saved our group more than $35,000.
During a conversation, Kenzie expressed that they have the time, equipment, and food to keep their operation going. What they don't have is a way to make sure the lights stay on and they make rent in their facility each month. We knew our collective network could help solve this problem.
So we created this page and a dedicated bank account. On the first of each month, we'll cut a check to Make a Difference Food Pantry. We've also committed to personally covering all adminstrative fees from using GoFundMe. That means 100% of your donation goes right to Kenzie.
