Help Get Scott His Dream Corvette

Donation protected
My name is Marshal, I am 18 years old and I grew up in a small town near Toronto, Ontario. I will try to explain this as best I can in chronological order but some things are difficult to talk about. Ever since I can remember, i've been taught to work hard and earn what i want in life by the two most loving parents anyone could ask for. My Dad is my hero and I look up to him everyday. In September of 2015, we finally found out what has been progressingly getting worse with my Dad who is just 48. He was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). In case you dont know, ALS is a neurodegenerative disease where the nerve cells that control your muscles die. The ‘living wires’ which connect your brain to your muscles degenerate, leading to a loss of mobility, loss of speech and eventually impact the ability to breathe. Because of this, it is hard for him to go anywhere out of our apartment and has been couch ridden watching TV for the last few months all day everyday. I have been watching him go downhill more and more as frustration and loss of hope is arising rapidly. My Dad worked very hard as a Sanitation Engineer (garbage man) up until 2011 when he had neck surgery for slipped vertabrae discs in his neck that nearly paralyzed him. After his surgery he was able to return back to work only until the pain got too severe and he was forced to be let go from his job. Since he lost his job in March of 2014, we have had to sell our family home of over 20 years because my Mom Theresa couldn't afford the bills alone working as a PSW at a Retirement home. My Dad used to throw 15 tons of garbage a day and work upwards of 12 hours a day or more, 6 to 7 days a week to provide for my family. On top of this, every year he would use whatever materials he could find around the house to build a backyard hockey rink for my friends and I. We have always been of the lower class (money wise) and my Mom and Dad always made sure to put priorities first (pay for me to play hockey, have some presents under the tree at Christmas) and put themselves last. It was always my Dad's dream to save up and buy a Corvette when he could retire one day but the average ALS patient lives 2-5 years after diagnosis and with my Dad's rapid health decline of just 9 months, this could be my last Christmas with him. Since my Mom worked for 18 years as a PSW (personal support worker for elderly people) she uses her knowledge to take 24/7 care of my Dad, therefor she can't be at work and the Government has denied us for any sort of income for reasons we don't know yet. What I am trying to  get at is for someone who has done nothing but work hard and provide his entire life to recieve nothing in return is just not fair. ALS has crippled my Dad's only dream and I have made it my goal for Christmas to make him smile as wide as he used to make me smile as a kid and fundraise to buy him a Corvette of any value possible because he truly deserves it. Since I showed him how to use YouTube last year, I've woken up EVERY morning to the sound of a corvette video. The amount of times i've heard my Dad say "look at this one, Marsh!" is uncountable. I am not asking for anyone's paycheck, I am simply asking if anyone could spare a few extra dollars to really make a difference in someone's life.  Any donation or share on Facebook makes a difference and brings us 1 step closer to the goal. If we do not reach our goal or heaven forbid when my father passes away, the Corvette will be sold and the money will be donated to the ALS foundation in support of finding a cure. I (Marshal) will be updating this fundraiser for anyone who is interested in following my Dad's progress and if we can reach this goal for his Christmas present. Lastly, my dad does not know that this campaign is happening as it is a surprise. Attached below are pictures of my Dad and family throughout the last few years and more recently. Thank you for your time and God Bless
