Macbeth for Mr. Leo's Sophomores

Hi, everybody!
As you all may already know, I am currently student teaching at Roosevelt High School in South City as I finish up my MO State Teacher Certification. Although it is very hard work at times, I love every minute of what I'm doing. I am also very excited and proud of SLPS District for recently receiving full accreditation after (too) many years. Those kids deserve everything coming to them and so much more. I have learned so much and love every single one of my students, and I want to be able to give back to them. The upcoming unit for my sophomores is on Shakespeare's tragedy, "Macbeth," a classic!
Teachers in the district have to follow a particular and very specific curriculum that uses workbooks, which at times can seem very impersonal, daunting, and downright boring. The workbooks chunk up the text with all these worksheet packets. Basically, I want these kids to have the same sorts of experiences and intimacy with a Shakespearean text that I had as a burgeoning learner and reader.
All I am asking for is $350, so I can buy each of my students their very own copy of "Macbeth" for class. We'll still be using the workbook, but I just think there's something about having your own copy of the play, something they can bring home to remember me by.
