Fire at Macaulay Grade 1 Classroom

Donation protected
On June 2nd there was an electrical fire in my daughter's 1st grade classroom at Macaulay school during the evening.  Thankfully no kids were present at the time and the fire was identified early and contained.  While no major damage was done to the school, the classroom is closed for the remainder of the year.  Kids lost their belongings, art and school work, desks, learning centres, resources, and books.  The class has been temporarily relocated to another room in the school.

Luckily this grade 1 class has an amazing and positive teacher who is helping all the kids through this distressing event.  She's shown great leadership through this tough time, despite losing years and years of lesson plans/activities, much of which was no doubt purchased with her own money.   My mother was a kindergarten teacher and so I know how much time, money, and effort a teacher puts into their classroom to make it an engaging and fun environment. This campaign is intended to:

- Provide financial support to the teacher to replace activities, lesson plans, books, decorations, and anything else required for the grade 1 classroom.

- Restore the classroom to a functioning level for the incoming 2017-2018 class so they don't lack anything as a result of the fire.

On behalf of the children of Macaulay Grade 1 class of this year and years to come, thank you for your support!
