Stephen's Road To Recovery!
As many of you may already know Stephen and his family are currently in St. John's as he was rushed in by ambulance this week. He had some test completed which showed he had a large amount of blood loss, bleeding into his lung space (aka hemothorax), and some damage to his kidney. Stephen was told by doctors that his treatment may be lengthy and they may have to stay in St. John's for a while. I decided to take it upon myself to set up this page to help them with any expenses that they have during this time. Thank you!+ Read More
Now that we have a diagnosis and treatment has been started, I will fill everyone in. He has a rare disease called Good Pasture Syndrome. It is an autoimmune disorder which attacks both his lungs and his kidneys. He had a huge bleed on the lungs and he has some kidney damage. To prevent further damage the treatment includes a high dosage of steroids, dialysis and a form of chemo. They told us he would be here having treatment every day for 2-3 weeks and we will see what happens after that. Thanks to everyone for everything. Nothing has went unnoticed. We appreciate every single gesture. Please continue to pray as we go through this journey together. We may not always understand why these things happen but we are thankful we caught this early! - Jessica Edwards
