GLS Veterans Home
Donation protected
Before I retired from the Army the plight of fellow brothers and sisters in the armed services bothered me. Since that time I have worked on opening a veteran's home. I have made it my mission to help my fellow brothers and sisters from all services find a home in their time of need.
The main focus of the home will be the homeless veterans, but also those veterans that are transitioning from the service who may not have a place to go.
The picture is my vision of each of the rooms our veterans will have to call their own for as long as they need a place.
I have tried to do this on my own with my own funding, but in order to make this work I have come to realize I cannot do this on my own. I am working to get the actual non-profit setup, but I need a little financial help in order to cover the expenses until then and we can accept donations that are tax deductible.
I am asking my friends, family, and fellow servicemembers, and those who feel compassionate toward our servicemembers, to help provide the funds to cover the expenses I need to cover in order to get this home created.
Ten percent of each book I sell goes toward this goal, but I fear it will be too late. I need to get this project moving. Too many of our soldiers, sailors, marines, and airmen are living on the streets without support. This must stop. Please help me to help those of us that neeed our support and assistance. When I first enlisted in the Army we had a motto that we always took care of our own. Now is our chance to do that.
Thank you
