Medical and Dental Bills - 2016

Just got off the phone a little while ago with a friend that had a similar tooth issue.  He said he was quoted $2,000 for a dental implant to replace the extracted tooth.  Though this estimate goes back several years...  Today, it might be more.  I will find out for sure on the 9th at the recheck appointment.

For now, I'm changing the Campaign Fund Goal to $2,640 to account for funds raised already but still are reflected on the Campaign Page, and for the current verbal quote from my friend.  Once I have the current quote from Foster City on the 9th, I will adjust the Campaign Fund Goal again, then.

Sutures are still in place...  Pain is minimal to none.  I still have the prescribed Tylenol with Codeine on hand, just in case.

Taking antibiotics, 3xDaily.  Should be through in a week or so.  I'm scheduled for a recheck on the surgery on Monday 05-09-2016.

OK - Final Update:

Called my dentist this morning at 8 AM - Pacific, (when they opened), told them what happened, and told them to request the X-Rays and notes from Foster City from Saturday. They did this, then called me back stating that the tooth crack is deep.

So, I am electing to have the tooth pulled. This will cost about $360, (estimated by Foster City), and my dentist is unable to do this... So, I have to drive 30-45 minutes back to Foster City to have this done. I'm VERY unhappy. :-(

In 6 months I will be eligible to have a dental implant put in to replace the tooth. However; I will need further financial assistance to get this done. Funds raised so far only got my enough to do the original root canal; and these funds are now being diverted to having the tooth extracted.

So, I called Foster City back and told them that I needed to have the tooth pulled, and then asked when they could get me in. They initially put me in for tomorrow morning. Later, I got a call back from them and they told me I could have it done today at 2:40.

I got there at 1:15, (I left home early because the East Bay traffic varies widely day by day, hour by hour), and sat until they took me back at 2:00. I sat in the dentist's chair, (only one dentist was in their office today), and FINALLY at 3:10 he began work extracting the tooth. It took until 5:15!!!!! The bulk of the tooth came out pretty easily and quickly; but, the roots broke off and were left behind. So, the dentist had to dig them out... Yeah, no fun...

I left their office at 5:30, got home at 6:20, just got through with dinner and dishes... (By the way, first solid food I've had since Friday night when the tooth broke!)

Now, I have to go out to the pharmacy to pick up the antibiotic and pain meds that Foster City called in to my local Walgreen's here in Danville.

WHAT A DAY!!!!!

Just wanted to put an Update here, in addition to the Update Posts that I generate upon receiving donations.  Just wanted to clarify, (for those whom do not receive, or choose not to read the Update Posts), that when this new campaign started the site claimed to have $440 in Total Received Donations.  This amount was from last year's campaign.  These funds were fully withdrawn.

So, as of 04-26-2016, the first donation received was $200.00.  This brought the Total Needed to $1,250.00.

Last night, a generous donor sent me a message stating that he would be sending me funds outside of GoFundMe, (to save me the Fees that  are taken out of each donation), and that the amount he is donating is $500.00.  So, the new Updated Total Needed is $750.00.

Thank you all for your help and assistance.  :-)

Since last year; I've tried to hold my own, paying my own way.  I've just recently encountered financial dificulties, again.  Being on SSDI is definitely not an easy road.

Currently I'm struggling with some Medical Bills, (that my Medical Insurance just made me aware of through their EOBs), and a new Dental Issue with a different tooth.

As per quotes from my recent EOB from Anthem Blue Cross Medicare Supplement, I am expecting two medical bills that will total $150.00.  Then the new tooth issue, (tooth #14, a molar on the upper left side of my jaw), requires a root canal and then a new post and crown.  The root canal alone is $781 dollars at my Dental Insurance's Contracted Rate.  Of this rate, Anthem Blue Cross Dental will ONLY pay $192.00.  This leaves $589.00 to be paid by me.  The new post and crown for tooth #14 costs $900 at my Dental Insurance's contracted rate.  Of this, the insurance will ONLY pay $264.00; so, this leaves $636.00 for me to pay.

So, totals that I am liable for to date are:  $1,375.00

Then this site takes money when I go to withdrawal the raised funds.  For the $1,375.00 this could be approximately $60.00.  This brings the Grand Total I must raise to $1,435.00.  For cussion against any error or change in figures, I am going to round my asking to $1,450.00; this should cover all my medical billing needs.

Please donate what you can.  All donations are graciously accepted.  I thank you in advance for your assistance.
