Hello! As you all know, I am Lyle Cooper. I will be happily reterning as an intern at Outdoor Lab with 6th graders in Evergreen, CO next semester. Being outside, exploring and teaching, has made me the happiest I could possibly be! Because of Outdoor Lab's policies, I will not be able to go back as an intern my last semester of senior year. With only one semester left and an entire year away from the traditional classroom, I desperatly needed to find another alternative way to complete high school. That is when I found Senior Field Studies.
Senior Field Studies is an amazing option for second semester seniors to get school credit while exploring and gaining real life experience. There is a 13 day desert backpacking trip in Arizona, a white water river expodition in Utah, a local community service, and a farm family live in where you live with a farming family in Colorado. While doing all of these things, I will be getting 3 high school credits. (Which is what I need to gradtuate)
I believe that Senior Field Studies will be an amaing life changing experience for me. It will give me a chance to learn and grow in a non-traditional educational environment. This is why I am doing a fund raiser. The money will be going to the cost of this program ($1,400) as well as the needed supplies for this program, such as hiking boots and a backpacking backpack.
I truly appreciate any money donated. I would not be able to do this fantastic program without your help! I cannot thank you enough for anything you can give! You are helping me change my life for the better!
