Lukens Family Relief Fund

$381,000 of $450,000 goal

Hi,

I am Phillip Blocklinger and I am the brother of Tracy Lukens.

A devastating fire started in the early hours of December 13, 2017 at the Lukens family home in Schwenksville PA.

Bryan, my brother-in-law, who is an Iraq War veteran and sheriff's deputy; and my sister made every effort to save their three children and the family dogs. Devastatingly my two sweet nephews and the family's dogs did not survive.

My sister's family has lost everything and nothing can replace what they have lost. However, this account was set up by a family friend with a goal to raise at least $10,000 to provide the Lukens family with some support when they are able to start piecing things back together. Whether that be money toward a new home, clothes or whatever they determine they need as they begin to recover from this tragedy.

The loss of a child is felt deeply by so many and our hearts ache for what has happened. We are so grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. We appreciate every comment and every donation.

We have quickly surpassed the initial goal and at this point we are not going to place a cap on a goal amount.

Please continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers. Again, I cannot express our gratitude.

Kind Regards,

Phillip Blocklinger

Good morning,

I have some exciting news to share! Every day since the terrible tragedy on Wednesday, December 13th, Bryan, Tracy and Soffia have received an incredible amount of love & support from their community, friends, and all of you. Our family has been trying to find a way to say “thank you” and to give back to those who have been so generous to us. To do that, Bryan and Tracy decided to start a non-profit called The Lukens Foundation.

The Lukens Foundation was established to honor the memory of Bryan Jr. (LJ) and Parker. Our mission is to support the development of youth through sports, education and community service. The foundation’s objective is to help pay activity fees and related costs in these three areas. In addition, the long-term goal of the foundation is to provide supplemental scholarships to area high school students to help defray the cost of a college education.

Although we are still in the early stages of development, we are excited to announce an event we are holding this Friday, May 18th. In conjunction with the Central Perkiomen Baseball Youth Association, there will be a concert held from 7pm – 11pm at the Philadelphia EXPO Center (Hall E) in Oaks, PA. BonJourneyNY will be playing the hits of Bon Jovi and Journey. Opening for them will be Voltage who play the rockin’ sounds of AC/DC.

Proceeds from this event will go toward a memorial scoreboard for the Central Perkiomen Youth Baseball fields where LJ and Parker played baseball. You can purchase tickets to this event by clicking here: https://bonjourneylukensevent.brownpapertickets.com/

I hope to see some of you there!

I will continue to keep you all in the loop as The Lukens Foundation grows and strives to give back to the people & community that were so supportive to us.

Sincerely,

Phil
