My husband, Luke, suffered a significant back injury and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder through his service within the Royal Air Force (RAF) and is now disabled, however, there is a promise of effective treatment where both are concerned.
To put you in the picture, Luke was medically discharged from the RAF in 2017 after a 7 month tour of Afghanistan. As well as battling Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Luke is desperately seeking treatment to alleviate the constant pain he suffers; caused by severe lower disc degeneration. He is only 33 years old
Luke has been successfully accepted for an experimental stem cell treatment clinical trial and whilst the clinic have very generously offered to fund Lukes treatment, we do not have funding for flights /travel nor accommodation.
The trial will take place in California; Orthopaedic Pain Specialists at the Office of Dr. Timothy T. Davis.
The official start date of Luke’s phase of the trial will be July 9th 2018.
Because our government is not willing to put money into effectively treating our veterans’ ailments, the families of these people are losing their loved ones far too often. I don’t want to be one of those people. I do not want our three young sons to grow up without their dad. Luke has attempted to take his own life before now due to the combination of pain he suffers daily and the severity of his PTSD. I am not too proud to beg for help when it is needed, and I will do everything that I can to help my husband; hence my asking for your help right now.

Thanks to MANY wonderful people we have raised enough to fly my husband, Luke, to California for this potentially ground breaking trial. £8000 — Words simply aren’t enough when it comes to how grateful we are for this chance. THANK YOU!
But, our battle doesn’t stop there; We now need to raise enough money for Luke to return to California in 6 months and 12 months time to complete the trial. We need a further £6000. Making our fundraising total a staggering £14,000.
Why didn’t I ask for this amount originally?
Because my priority was getting Luke to California.... the funding for subsequent trips following the first one left us time to organise events /fundraisers.... Wait out for more details of those!! :)
We all know someone with mental health issues, veterans that have been let down by the MoD, loved ones who live in excruciating pain DAILY.. This is Luke’s life, OUR life.
If this trial is successful it could help MANY others like Luke.. So, I ask you, please dig deep, help me to raise some money for this trip, help me to save and change my incredible husbands life.
