In Honor of Luis Saladin

Donation protected
Luis Saladin was born Feb 1964 in the Dominican Republic. He was raised in New York where he met his wife of 25 years Carmen. They started their life together in Florida and moved to Georgia in 2006. It is in this wonderful community that he and Carmen raise their son Marcus. Anyone who knows Luis knows that family comes first. He is a devoted father who despite protests from teenage Marcus would personally escorts his son into school.

Luis joined the Kroger family in 2007 and for 10 years has been a confidant and role model but most of all a true friend. He climbed gracefully through the ranks of his career beginning as a co-manager at store #673 & 376 to unit manager at #389,616,373,462,413,319, 315. ~“You carve your name on hearts, not tombstones. A legacy is etched into the minds of others and the stories they share about you.” ~Luis cared and helped shape the intellect, interest and life in general of his Kroger family and community. He sees the good in everyone and lives his life to the fullest daily.

Recently Luis was diagnosed with a terminal illness but has shown immense strength and courage through his battle. His greatest wish is that his son; Marcus to whom he is a devoted father, have the opportunity to continue his educational journey in an environment that not only feeds his mind but also cares for his soul and wellbeing.

Luis is survived by his wife, Carmen M. Soto-Saladin; children, Lana Saladin; Luigi Saladin; Marcus Saladin; brother, Miguel Saladin; brother, Francis Ferreira; sister, Geovana Saladin; sister, Ingrid Ferreira.

Memorial Services will be held Monday 6:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Desmond Drummer officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 5:00-6:00 PM at the funeral home

Luis wishes that in Lieu of Flowers those wishing to comfort and brighten his day consider contributing to this fund that will help support Marcus’s education as he grows up for any education needs he may need. We would be very grateful whatever anyone can contribute to the education of his son.

My son, I wish you the strength to face challenges with confidence along with the wisdom to choose your battles carefully. I wish you adventure on your journey and may you always stop to help someone along the way… listen to your heart and take risks carefully. Most of all remember you are not alone, you will never be alone you are loved.
