Break away

My name is Taryn ferry , when I was younger I grew up in a very lovely home with an amazing family " so to say" , but when I turned 12 my world fell apart , my older sister past away and at that my life slowly fell aswell , I went through horrible times with my father turning to alcohol and my mother being disabled , I hit rock bottom when I was diagnosed with a brain tumour and couldnt handle life anymore ... That was until I joined a youth project in govanhill glasgow. I can't even describe in words the help they gave me to making me feel my life was actually worth living for. They pulled me up when I repeatedly fell and didn't matter what time of day I needed them , they were there. That was the start of my journey with them, I began volunteering and saw how much the children of my neighbourhood needed that help I got , that smile each day. So I wanted to do more , I joined college to be a youth worker , began chair of a youth forum to allow the children's voices to be heard. Taking them for a simple picnic or just a day away takes them from all the struggles most of us have faced and not been able to cope with on day to day basis. It kills me that I can't do more to help them , I'm wanting to take them all a day away just to forget , or even to just help , I'ts so hard to find people who will listen so I found this page and thought I would give it a go to see if it was possible that people could care like I do. For the kids who aren't heard , to just for one moment see a smile that would make anyone's day. If I could save one life like this organisation done for me , then I will and can Beable to know that this is what I'm meant to do, that for the years I've been searching for a future that this has been it all along.
