Baby Loxli Willow Chavez Memorial

$5,050 of $25,000 goal

Raised by 60 people in 9 months
Created March 9, 2018
On March 9, 2018, Loxli Willow Chavez went to be with the Lord. Loxli was born on February 4, 2017. Loxli was born premature, weighed 3lbs, 3 oz. She was a warrior and made it out of the NICU and went home with her parents. Loxli was full of life, she was happy, strong and was always full of joy. She is also described as having a beautiful attitude. She would wrinkle up her nose and snort. Just a couple of weeks ago she started taking her first steps.

Today, Loxli's life was cut too short by a tragic accident. The family is devastated and in shock right now if you can imagine. It was all to unexpected.

The funds that are raised will help the family with support through this tragedy. As you can expect, returning back to normal life and routine is going to take some time. The family has limited income to live on and any support you offer will go farther than you can ever imagine.

I set the goal high because that just a fraction of the real picture of what they will need to be able to take care of the accommodations they are responsible for. In addition, they are going to need support in their healing, grieving the loss of their child, and being able to take the time they need to recover and start over.

The father and mother have been through many rough trials. Life has thrown them many curve balls and they continue to do their best to make ends meet. They are going to need our support through this time and financial gifts will ease the stress and concerns they already have.

Thank you all for taking the time to read through the story. Your generous gifts are appreciated greatly. Please pray for the family as they mourn the loss of their daughter.

Loxli leaves behind 2 sisters, Juniper 5, and Layla 6.

All proceeds are withdrawn directly to Michelle Seabaugh, Loxli's grandmother and given to the family: Tia Bailey in the form of cash or check. This was done due to the importance of getting the gofundme site up quickly and without delay.

Hello Family and Friends.

I want to take this time to continue to thank you for supporting the family. Your generous donations have helped the family immensely. I do want you to know that I am praying and thanking the Lord for all of you and your generosity.

The other day, I was listening to John Piper talk about some of his personal practices of giving and it made so much sense to me. He said, "every week, I go to the bank and withdraw 50, 1$ bills. I roll them up and take them with me because I know there will be those I encounter who may need a little help." He went on to say, "it is not up to me what the intentions are but it is up to me to give. I can simply choose to give or not give. Its up to me. What they do with it is up to them but God will soften my heart every time I am generous."

When I heard this it was like a light bulb went off in my head. It was not that kind of preaching if you will, that is coercive in nature or trying to manipulate people into thinking like he does. I mean, what does he gain right? It is just a practice he had.

I frequently give to those when I can regardless of the need because it just makes me feel good. I also know the biblical principles that support my practices but even if you are not someone that ascribes to faith, giving to others is fulfilling. It is a wonderful gesture of love, kindness, compassion, advocacy and an intentional meaningful willingness to take on ones burden and lighten it.

About 4 years ago, I too went through a similar situation where I almost lost my then 13 year old son, Jeremiah. He had a sudden cardiac arrest and I found myself doing CPR on him for 6 minutes. It was something that I will never forget. A person I did not really know opened up a gofundme account for my family and I. I was the sole breadwinner and had to take off to care for my son as he was critically ill. It is a long story and I will not get into it but the mere fact that a stranger decided to take it upon herself to do something, spoke so much love and care and we were blown away. It allowed me to take care of the family and my son and I felt no stress. Furthermore, another friend (an old Marine Corps colleague of mine) opened up an account on his own and help out too. It was just so overwhelming and generous I was humbled greatly.

So why this update? My goal here is to share how thankful the family is for your love, support and generosity. It truly is a great example of a community of friends, family and strangers coming together to meet a need. Whether it be a roll of 50 dollar bills or a one time gift of $50,000, all of it is all equally important, equally effective and equally rewarding.

I noticed today that some donations started coming in and when I logged in to send some thank you emails I noticed that over 1900 people visited the site yesterday. I have no idea how that happened but it did. It is great momentum and that is what it takes to make miracles happen.

I ask that you continue to share this to your friends, family, strangers and wherever your heart leads you. The family greatly needs the support and the need continues on.

Thank you all.
God Bless

As many of you are aware, Tia and Cass released their lovely Loxli to the Lord on Wednesday, 3/21. It was a time of sadness, remembering, reflecting and rejoicing. The hard part was the rejoicing but the family rejoiced that Loxli was whole again. The Lord has made her whole. The Lord has her in His arms. Through this tragedy will come triumph. Triumph in that lives are changed forever and new purpose for living forcefully discovered.

Although the memorial is complete, the healing and support Tia and Cass need is far from complete. Please consider supporting them today. Your financial gift will ease the process and help the family recover.

All finances go to support Tia, Cass and little Juniper as they navigate their essential day to day needs.

Thank you all for your continued prayers and financial gifts.

Please share this story so others might be inspired.

Today was an extremely difficult day for the mother and father and family too. The necessary logistics had to be taken care of at the funeral home of course. It was no easy task for Cass and Tia. They were able to visit with their daughter one last time. As you can imagine, it is unspeakable. Just know they need all of the prayer and support we can give. Thank you all for your generosity. It is bringing much relief where day to day stress is concerned. They want everyone to know they are so very thankful.
