Animal Rescue Facility Build Out

$6,310 of $50,000 goal

Raised by 26 people in 14 days
My name is Linda Schifferdecker, and I am the Founder of Lovin' Life Rescue - a not-for-profit, foster-home based animal rescue in Chicago.  Joining me in the promotion of raising funds for our fantastic new building is my close friend and long-time volunteer, Suzanne Day, who is also our Training Supervisor and has fostered 30(!) dogs for LLR.

Lovin' Life Rescue has been around for 10 years.  We have not had a facility, so we have relied on foster homes for our cats and foster homes & doggy daycares for our dogs.  I am ECSTATIC to say that we have FINALLY found an amazing building to rent!!  Having a facility will monumentally increase the number of lives that we save and exponentially grow our volunteer base.  We are one of the few organizations in Chicago that saves the lives of both dogs AND cats and have been doing so from the day we started.  We primarily take in those that are on "death row" in high-kill shelters.  We believe that ALL animals deserve a chance regardless of breed, age, size, or medical condition.  Because we believe that each life is precious and all are equally important, we spare no expense in medical care, behavior assistance, and daily well-being.  Despite their sad beginnings, our purpose is to ensure that each precious life will now be Lovin' Life with their Forever Families.

The new facility is in a rural suburb, which means we are getting SO much more for these funds than we would in the city.  Every canine guest will reside in their own "bedroom" suite, receive medical care, a nutritious diet, and behavior enrichment in our peaceful environment including daily exercise, social interaction, calming music, aromatherapy, comfy beds, and basic manners training.  Each will learn life skills in a home-like setting to prepare them for their Forever Family. There will be:

10 – 12 Suites (6' x 4')

2 Indoor Play / Enrichment Areas

2 Outdoor Play Areas

Grooming Spa

Kitchen

Veterinary Exam Room

Isolation Rehabilitation Room

Volunteer / Community Area

Storage Room

Office

Wouldn't you LOVE to save MULTIPLE lives and be part of Lovin' Life Rescue's dream?!?  We have several naming opportunities (a few listed below)!  Your contribution will help with our build-out towards that dream AND, in turn, help us save more lives.  Your name, the name of a loved one, or the name of a beloved pet will be prominently displayed on a plaque on the designated area.

Epoxy Floor          -     $10,000.00 (name displayed on wall next to door in EVERY room)

ISO Room             -     $3,000.00

Vet Exam Room    -     $2,500.00

Office                     -     $1,500.00

Grooming Spa       -     $1,000.00

Dog Suites (10)     -     $600.00 each

Feel free to grab a friend(s) to split the cost - all parties will be named!

We will also have a "Wall of Wags" that will display the names of every person who makes a donation of any size as a way to show our gratitude and literally make you part of this life-saving facility that you support.  (Including virtual "Wall of Wags" on Lovin' Life Rescue website page)

Thank you so very much for your time, consideration, generosity, and support!!!

We want to share with you some of the lives that we have saved to show you what your generous donations can make possible. Because of you, thousands more lives will be saved!

This is Niles Barkington "the 1st". He is a 13-14 year old, male, Beagle / Jack Russell mix. Sweet Niles is one of our Sanctuary / Hospice dogs. Niles was actually dumped by his "family" at a kill-facility. When we saw this face and learned that he had multiple lipomas and mast cell cancer, we knew there was no way we were going to let him die here. Once we pulled him, he broke with pneumonia and was very ill for 3 weeks. Check back for the next Episode... ;-)
