On September 2016, Yolanda “Yolly” Dela Torre was diagnosed with gastric stomach cancer. After several doctor visits between Ventura County and the City of Hope Hospital in Duarte, CA, a few hospitalizations and chemotherapy treatments, her doctors finally ordered a Gastrectomy (removal of the stomach) to be performed this past January 5, 2017.

In preparation for the surgery and with the standard precautionary procedures prior to the surgery, Yolly’s doctors discovered her gastric stomach cancer has spread and is now in Stage 4; her doctors did not pursue the surgery. All that is now recommended for Yolly is to continue with chemotherapy, eat a healthy diet and exercise to prolong her life.

Due to her illness, Yolly has been unemployed. With medical and living expenses accumulating, her family and friends are seeking financial assistance to help alleviate any financial stresses so Yolly can focus on her health. The money donated will be used to pay for medical expenses not covered by insurance and to help with daily living expenses.
