Donation protected
Help us make history! It takes a village of committed activists to raise an original production and that's where you come in!!! Your tax deductible donation will help fulfill our dream of staging a full production of "Love Songs from the Liberation Wars," a jazz opera that gives life to the voices of working people who changed our world with their courage and their love!
Composed by Steve Jones and directed by Elise Bryant, "Love Songs" is an original work inspired by the book "Civil Rights Unionism" by Robert Korstad. It tells the moving story of a strike led by African-American women at the R J Reynolds factory in Winston-Salem, NC, which was an early victory against Jim Crow segregation.
Performance Dates: Thursday, March 30, Friday March 31, and Saturday April 1. To purchase tickets, go to: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/love-songs-from-the-liberation-wars-the-1940s-tobacco-workers-struggle-tickets-32102743169
