Love Songs Needs Love Angels!
Composed by Steve Jones and directed by Elise Bryant, "Love Songs" is an original work inspired by the book "Civil Rights Unionism" by Robert Korstad. It tells the moving story of a strike led by African-American women at the R J Reynolds factory in Winston-Salem, NC, which was an early victory against Jim Crow segregation.
Performance Dates: Thursday, March 30, Friday March 31, and Saturday April 1. To purchase tickets, go to: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/love-songs-from-the-liberation-wars-the-1940s-tobacco-workers-struggle-tickets-32102743169
❤️ I give thanks today for the 59 women and men who made their tax-deductible contribution to help us bring forth the voices of women who are missing from our history books! We shall march, we shall sing, we shall resist and persist! We shall overcome!!
As we sing in the Love Songs finale "Love is the unstoppable force!" Together, we are an unstoppable force! Tell a friend!!
Kudos to Roz and Don Pelles for a great party last Sunday, Feb. 19 and to the DMV (and Baltimore) angels who got a sneak preview of songs from the show! Inspired by what they heard, several angels wrote a second check and doubled their donation!
Which reminds me, if you would like to host a house party with your friends for your own sneak preview of songs just use this link and we'll get back to you!
Love is the unstoppable force!
