Love for the Case Family

Donation protected
Our friend, Michael Case, a conductor for Amtrak, was senselessly shot on May 16th while assisting passengers on/off the train in nearby Naperville.  The offender, an elderly man, was subdued by other passengers until police arrived and he was then taken into custody.

At first, alert and talking, Michael was taken to Edward Hospital.  The gunshot initially reported as “non life threatening” proved more complex upon further evaluation and he underwent an extensive 9 ½ hr  surgery; he is now in the ICU still listed in critical condition.  His wife Sara, along with their children, his parents, siblings and his many, many friends have all been keeping vigil at the hospital or via phone since the incident- this act of violence has rocked many lives.

Michael proudly served in the Navy for 4yrs as a Submariner.  He is a genuinely wonderful guy, a great dad, loving husband and an awesome friend to so, so many.  He loved his job and his passengers enjoyed each and every ride with him between Kansas City and Chicago, his usual route.

We are setting up this GoFundMe page to help the family maintain their household and manage during Michael's recovery time and beyond.  No one knows how long his hospitalization will be or what his recovery will look like but having Sara and his family and friends by his side will hopefully ease some of the worries.

HIS long road is now OUR challenge to help and to help his family manage during this difficult time.

Please donate if you can…no amount is too small.
