Dearest family, friends, disc golfers and well-wishers,
First my family and I would like to thank everyone for all of the love and support that has been shown to us and our entire family during this extremely difficult time. It is now more than ever that we will need all of you.
My Dad was out on the disc golf course Tuesday, May 2nd when he passed out. After regaining consciousness he then passed out again. After calling 911 my Dad was then transported to Robert Wood Johnson hospital in New Brunswick. Along the way he needs to be resuscitated 3 times. The doctors determined he needed surgery to removed blood clots that covered one full lung and 1/4 of his other lung. Because of the clots, the CPR he received along the way and the time it took to identify the problem, my Dad lost too much oxygen to his brain. My Dad has severe brain damage
and we are just waiting and praying for a MIRACLE!!!
My Dad has several passions in life and the first one is his love for FAMILY! My Dad is the most amazing Father to my two sisters Jennifer and Jackie and I but most importantly a loving and committed Husband to my Mother Nancy and Pop Pop to his grandchildren Austin, Cecelia, and Mikey. He spends everyday helping my sister Jackie in taking care of and raising her son Austin. He is the oldest brother of four and the "cool" Uncle Cub to his newphews Mark, Tim, David, Michael and Christopher. He is also the most incredible friend one could ever hope for.
My Dad is a retired leuitenant officer of the United States Navy and loved serving his country for 20 years. His love for PIZZA is great and he lets everyone know about it!! In fact he loved documenting his life through social medias like Facebook. He loved posting pictures of why he was doing, where he was going or to ask "who's down for Disc Golf!?" He has the biggest and most sincere heart, warmest smile and a way with comforting others in a time of need.
Another passion is his love of the sport Disc Golf. Known as Cubby and the Cubbanator on the course, just to mention a few, my Dad plays almost every day and ever night in every type of weather condition with fellow disc golfers around the world. He has an army of friends in the Disc Golf community PRAYING for him and waiting for the chance to play again with the celebrity my Dad has become to so many.
His truest passion in life is simply LIFE itself. He strives everyday to BE HAPPY!! He once told me when I was younger that you cannot depend on anyone to make you happy and that you have to find the happiness in every situation. He's told me and many others that "There's no reason not to be blissfully happy every moment of your life" and that "It's always been my believe that the power of positive thinking rules supreme. If you are not of the mindset that creates a constant state of euphoria, then you are not doing it right." My Dad is always happy, always smiling and enjoying every moment he has on this earth. What happened is not fair and all we want is for him to get to fully live and experience life again.
The money we raise will help with the following in no particular order
-help offset the costs of his family traveling an hour away to visit and be with him while he's so far from home
-help offset the costs of his family members missing work and working less to take care of him
-help with the costs of family members rearranging their living arrangements in order to provide the best care to his grandkids
-help with costs of additional childcare needed
-help to his wife who will assume all financial responsibilities of the household
-medical bills
