Establishment of the Louisa Tew Foundation

If you've ever met Louisa Tew, you'd have immediately experienced the warmth and love that she shared with everyone she crossed paths with. Her big, open love was infectious and embedded into everything she put her heart and hands towards.
As a founder of the company AwayTeam , she worked hard to give Filipino online workers meaningful, long term, ethical and sustainable employment with Australian businesses. For her, this was never about profit, rather she delighted in the positive differences this made in the lives of both the workers and her clients.
She was also in the middle of launching AwayTeam Teach, a service that allows Australian children with special learning needs to be tutored by professional teachers from the Philippines. She saw the impact a Filipino tutor had on her daughter’s learning, and want other children to experience the same.
Louisa sadly but peacefully passed in her sleep on Wednesday, 5th December 2018, cutting short the work that she put her heart and soul into.

This is why we have decided to establish the Louisa Tew Foundation, in honor of this amazing woman. Her Big Dream was always to leverage this work to create economically sustainable programs to advance the lives of many, especially the underprivileged women in the Philippines.
This was her biggest advocacy, one that she has spoken so much about during her speaking engagements in Australia, as well as in personal and business conversations with her colleagues and friends.
We simply can’t let these dreams pass without inflicting an injustice to the world. Which is why we are set on carrying her legacy and with your help, continue making an impact in the lives of many, just as Louisa did when she was still with us.
Where your donation will go
Your donation to this campaign will first and foremost help us with the costs of setting up an organisation. This includes legal, registration, administrative and operational expenses associated with it.
Additionally, we will be completing a project that Louisa was in the midst of organising at the time of her passing. We will be holding a donation drive of school supplies to an underfunded rural school in Bukidnon Province, in Mindanao, Philippines.

Address: Cosina, Talakag, Bukidnon, Philippines
Number of students: 409 in total as of June 2018
Items to be donated: School supplies (i.e. notebooks, pencils, pens), books, toys
