LotF asbestos help
Donation protected
On Monday the 6th, a contractor began renovating our bathroom for the landlord. He opened the ceiling and flooded our home with what is likely asbestos filled vermiculite insulation.
I was told on Wednesday. We moved out with just the clothes on our back on Thursday and those had to be disposed of right away. We got clothes at Walmart, stripped the kids and showered as soon as we got to the hotel.
Originally, the landlord had said he would pay for the hotel and to replace all our soft goods which needed destroyed after the exposure. This week, his lawyer told him to take that all back.
We've been in hotels for almost a week and only bought bare necessities, but we are a family living paycheck to paycheck and are nearly tapped.
Anything helps. If we can get a roof over our heads and a couple outfits and enough food and gas, we really just need to make it until I give birth at the end of April, and we move on May 1st.
Thank you all so much for caring enough to help us!
