Refugee Crisis in Kos
Donation protected
Hey! We are Jessica and Jesse (los Jess), two Australian dancers in the National Dance Company of Spain.
This Easter break we will be travelling to the Greek island of Kos to help out with the severe refugee crisis.
In 2015 over 200,000 people arrived on Kos risking their lives at sea to escape conflict ravaging their homes. This number is predicted to rise in 2016.
We are asking you to help us raise funds so we can buy desperately needed supplies for the men, women and children arriving every day on the island. Supplies will include clothing, food and bedding.
We decided to dedicate our free time and energy to this cause because we are interested in humanitarian work and were moved to act. We will be working with local volunteer groups and we ask your support so we can maximise our impact during the relatively short time we have. (Two weeks during our demanding dance schedule).
All the money raised will go directly towards buying supplies. We will be covering all our own expenses including flights, accommodation, insurance and food. Any money raised that is not used will be donated to the UN Refugee Agency.
If any of you are interested in following our experience on the island send us a message or follow us under the hashtag #losjessinkos. That way we can show you how your generous donations are helping.
Please donate if you can or share with your friends and family.
