Lomison Family Fire Recovery Fund
On the evening of January 5th, 2017 while putting her kids to bed, Jamie Lomison's son alerted her to smoke coming from an outlet in his bedroom. Within minutes the entire back of the house was engulfed in flames.
The family escaped, along with their chihuahua, with only the clothes on their backs, and the kids, only in their pajamas.
The home, which they rented, along with all of their belongings, are a total and complete loss. In the blink of an eye, this family of 6 has lost every possession, all of their children's Christmas gifts, all of their clothing, furniture, every beloved treasure, all of it, gone.
Now it's time for them to rebuild. And this is where you come in.
But first, you should know, the Lomison family isn't just another family in Duncannon. In fact, Jamie has done tremendous things to help others throughout our community. She has launched her own ministry called Candles4Kidz, providing birthday parties for children in poverty, helping to ensure that "every child has a birthday party with cake and presents", she has donated to every cause that This Is Duncannon has hosted or promoted, even donating bikes to children for last year's Adopt A Family Christmas gift drive, this family is a family of helpers. They are, without fail, the first to offer help when any of their neighbors are in need. And now, it is our chance to return the favor.
Jamie, her husband Spencer, and their four children, 6 year old Alivia, 8 year old Lilliana, 9 year old Malachai, and 10 year old Andrew, are without a home, and without all that they know and love.
A donation drive for supplies, clothing, and emergency items is underway now. But some things the Lomisons will need to replace themselves, and without renters insurance, they have to start somewhere.
Please consider donating anything you can to this fund - even if it's only $1. All money raised goes directly to, (and is only accessible to) the Lomison family and will be used to get them back onto their feet.
Thank you in advance for your consideration and willingness to help a family who has done so much for our community.
