Help send Lokahi keiki to Kona

Donation protected
Aloha!

We are  training  to go to Kona to race the Queen Liliuokalani Race in September 2017.

In order for our keiki (children) crew to compete in this race, we will need to raise at least $5,000 to be able to all go as a team. We are really excited to be able to compete in this race and will be using the funds to register our crew, book flights and housing.

We appreciate any and all donations and will represent Lokahi/Sonoma County proudly.

Mahalo!
Ella, Heidy, Keara, Kylie, Makana and Megan.

Hi Everyone! For those who don't know, my sister and I have paddled with a Hawaiian outrigger canoe club called Lokahi for 7 years now and it's become one of my passions! I am now a junior coach and a steersman for the keiki (children) division. I love my ohana at the club and it's become a big part of our lives. Me and a few of my fellow keiki girls need your help! We were lucky enough to be chosen to represent Lokahi in a 19yrs & under girls crew at the Queen Lili'uokalani race in Kona, Hawaii. Paddlers of all ages come to this event from all over the world to compete. As expected, it is very expensive for us to do this race, so we are trying to help raise funds for our crew. Anything will help! Mahalo for the support!

Hi, my name is Heidy and I am a paddler from Lokahi Outrigger Canoe Club in Petaluma, CA. I have been paddling for 4 years now and I am truly in love with this sport. It has brought me closer to the Hawaiian culture and I find it so interesting and amazing. Paddling has kept me busy, entertained, and healthy for these past few years and I am very thankful for every member of the club who made it possible for me to paddle and enjoy it so much. This September we are trying to go to a big event in Kona, Hawaii where we will race in the ocean with many other clubs from different places. I would love to go to this event with my club because we have never traveled far together and I think it would be very fun and amazing to race in Hawaii, where this sport was created. I also think it will bring us together and closer as an ohana and allow us to experience the Hawaiian culture even more and better. We are all very excited to go but we do need a lot of help to get there. I hope you can see how much we would love to go to this event and how much we would really appreciate your help in donating to our fund, anything helps! :)

My name is Keara Reed and I've paddled for 5 years now, with Lōkahi outrigger canoe club. This club and sport means everything to me, it is my second home and family. I'm so close with everyone I paddle with and I am grateful for everyone who has helped me along the way. We would like to be able to travel to Kona, in Hawaii for a longer distance race, but we need help to raise money to get there first. It would be really great to be able to do this with my Ohana, and to bring us closer together, so please donate anything you can to help us do this. Thank you so much!!

Ever since I joined paddling, I instantly loved it. It is full of positivity, ohana, love, & it is so much fun. Paddling to me means unity & teamwork, & that applies to every single practice & racing event. Since day one, it has been a dream of mine to race in Hawaii. To be around the culture where outrigger paddling originated from, & to have the time of my live with my team. This sport and family means everything to me.

I have been paddling for about 5 years now and let me tell you, it is not like other sports. It's not only about winning or losing it's about connecting with people, sharing the aloha, and perpetuating the Hawaiian culture. Paddling played a huge role in my ancestor's lives and I am proud to perpetuate it with my wonderful keiki crew in the upcoming Kona race. As you can imagine getting us there will be expensive, therefore any donation is greatly appreciated.
