Dog Shot in Chest with Spear Gun

Donation protected

Champ is an amazing, loving dog who had a loving family. When they brought him into our clinic; they thought he had simply been kicked by the neighbor. What we found on x-ray was another matter entirely: he had an arrow in his chest. These xrays are not altered, nothing was added: this is exactly how it came out of the processor.
A small, about six inch what appeared to be crossbow bolt was lodged within his chest, causing him to have trouble breathing and to be leaking air under his skin. Devastated, the family had a decision to make. With the financial possibility of it being $2000-$5000, the crushing decision was made to euthanize.

However, there was a silver lining. Our technician Amy couldn't let that happen to this sweet boy because of the cruelty of humans. She offered them the alternative: surrender him, and she would take him to the board certified surgeon and have the surgery done. Without so much as a second thought, that was the option taken.

Rushing him to the surgeon, they began on surgery within an hour of him arriving, and the surgeon worked well into the night-the surgery was three hours and lasted until about 10 pm. Through the valiant effort and skill of the surgical team, he has survived-although he nearly passed away twice during surgery.

Now, along with his daunting recovery time, Amy is faced with the daunting task of paying off the medical bill of nearly $7000. While she is overjoyed that his smiling face is there, and he seems quite happy,  she had not really thought ahead to what the cost would be afterwards.

They are in the process of trying to apprehend the person who did this, but in the mean time he is going to get some tender loving care from Amy and her own family.
Champion Chuck Norris and I (Amy) would be overjoyed if you could help us out with this daunting medical bill that he received, and would be eternally grateful - because it would mean more toys and treats for him throughout his life as opposed to just worrying about paying off this bill.
Since people are asking- my name is Amy Neville and I am the technician who saved the dogs life by letting the owners surrender him and taking it upon myself to take him to the surgeons an hour away from me for them to preform this life saving surgery. I am his new owner, as we have discussed his potential future complications and they think it best that I be with him to monitor him for anything. They are still involved in his life and will be visiting often once he recovers.
