Loaves and Fishes Lunch Program
In the early morning hours of Monday, January 30, someone broke into St. Stephen and the Incarnation Episcopal Church and stole our safe. The safe contained the proceeds from a benefit concert for our Loaves and Fishes hot meals program. The program serves hundreds of meals each weekend for homeless and low-income people in Columbia Heights, and has for the past 50 years. Loaves and Fishes relies on donations to fund its operations and was counting on that money.
Your generous donation will help us recover from this devastating loss.
Thank you each and every one who contributed to support our GoFundMe campaign for the Loaves and Fishes feeding program. The donations exceeded our initial goal by a substantial amount, and met our revised target. We are very grateful.
While the formal campaign is over, we will leave the GoFundMe page active for an additional week for anyone moved to make a contribution.
We are developing an e-newsletter to keep supporters abreast of the work of the Loaves and Fishes Program. Watch for it in your email box in the near future.
Thanks again for your support,
Loaves and Fishes Management Committee
The response is gratifying and means a lot to those who prepare and serve the meals on weekends and Federal holidays.
Any additional support will help ensure the sustainability of this vital service in Columbia Heights/Mt. Pleasant neighborhoods.
