Straight to the point and then the background:
Our website was hacked. It required professional assistance and resulted in huge server fees. In the words of the IT Professional working to repair the site, "You are so so so so so so hacked. It's like someone broke into your house in the middle of the night, took everything valuable and smashed your furniture." Yes, we feel violated.
We need your help and financial support to offset these repair costs and prevent this website from, quite frankly, being deleted into the netherworld. Which would be heartbreaking and regrettable.
The background:
Eric Robertson started this site in 2006, and over the years the site has grown and included more collaborators. Kyle Ridgeway, Mike Pascoe, and a great support from #DPTstudent advocates like Lauren Kealy, TJ Janicky, Tyler Tracy, Jocelyn Wallace, Laura Webb, and more have helped make this site rich and alive for so many years.
Since the beginning, PT Think Tank has served our profession as a place for conversation, discourse, and advocacy. At no time have any funds been collected or charged, which means that it's essentially been a donation to the profession. Over the years, server fees and domain registration and occasional web designs add up, but for Eric, it's been part of his greater mission of advocacy and service. Until the hack...
Fees related to this event have reached into the thousands. We hope that whatever evil hacker decided to litter our database with pharma code for Viagra had fun. We did not.
