Liz’s Where Y’at Diner Fire Relief Fundraiser

On Tuesday, 6/11/19 Liz’s Where Y’at Diner caught on fire.    This popular diner wreaks of New Orleans (on the Northshore) led by its owner, Liz Munson. The amount of love pouring in from our community has truly filled Liz’s & her entire staff’s hearts.  Her employees and customers are ‘family’ for her.   

People have been asking / offering help
beyond belief.    I’ve been her restaurant consultant / accountant from its infant stage before she opened her doors to the present   I’m currently working with her to handle her insurance claim.   While she has business interruption coverage, her policy does not cover her servers tips (salaried employees are covered).  The reasoning is that since there are no customers during the rebuild, there would be no tips.    Almost 2/3’s of her staff earn tips.    Liz’s goal is to compensate 100% of her staff with 100% of their earnings.   Since many of her staff count on their pay to make ends meet, they may be forced to find work elsewhere.     Liz’s family of employees that has served our community so well is at risk.
