LiveZEKE, for the first time in documentary history, will bring subjects of a documentary into direct live conversation with the audience through live video conferencing.

With LiveZEKE, documentary subjects now become active participants by engaging with audiences directly.

The Social Documentary Network (SDN) www.socialdocumentary.net, publisher of ZEKE magazine, will be presenting LiveZEKE at the Photoville photography festival in Brooklyn, NY September 21-25, 2016.  We are asking for your support to make this successful.

This first presentation of LiveZEKE at Photoville will be based on "The Forgotten Caucasus", a feature article in the spring 2016 edition of ZEKE magazine that showcased the  documentary photography by Ara Oshagan, Daro Sulakauri, and Jan Zychlinski. These three photographers are doing compelling visual storytelling from the three countries of the South Caucasus—Armenia, Georgia, and Azerbaijan—as well as the conflicted territory of Nagorno-Karabakh.  A web version of this article can be viewed at: https://zekemagazine.atavist.com/the-forgotten-caucasus

The exhibition will include text and large scale images from the magazine article. But most significant is that we will  present each day two LiveZEKE sessions in the exhibit. Each half hour session will be live video conferencing with subjects in the documentary who will be available for questions and dialogue with members of the audience.  Translation will be provided if the subjects do not speak English.

I would be interested in donating to the campaign but I don't have a US address so I won't receive the same benefits as your US donors. If you want to be considered an international documentary publication you should ship your magazine international.

Why we contribute. Quoting Glenn Ruga email 8/10/14: "...without committed photographers, activists, writers, artists and others bringing awareness to these issues, we would be at the mercy of government and industry to tell us what is going on. While both can be a force for good in this world, if led by people driven by their self-interest, they can and will wreak havoc. Glenn Ruga SDN Founder & Director"
