Liú Lúnasa- Féile Imeall-Chultúir Bhéal Feirste

Seo é an 3ú bliain do Liú Lúnasa i mBéal Feirste agus táimid ag iarraidh an fhéile a thabhairt chuig an chéad chéim eile i mbliana- le bhur gcuidiú.

Is Féile í Liú Lúnasa atá ag iarraidh teorainn na Gaeilge a bhrú go mór. Tá an fhéile ag díriú go mór ar imeachtaí ealaíona, pobail agus ceoil atá i nGaeilge. Táimid ag iarraidh freastal ar lucht labhartha na Gaeilge, ar fhoghlaimeoirí agus daoine nach bhfuil fios ar bith acu faoin teanga.

Beidh sé ar siúl i mbliana, idir an 21-27 Lúnasa agus beidh idir drámaí, filíocht, dianchúrsa Gaeilge, ceolchoirmeacha lóin, Airneál, seoltaí leabhair agus neart eile beartaithe againn. ( Níor mhaith linn ár rúin uilig a sceitheamh libh go fóill :P)

I mbliana, ba mhian linn ceolchoirm a reachtáil i gCearnóg na mBruach (Taobh amuigh de Thigh Cheallaigh) leis an cheol is úra Gaelach.  

Cuspóir atá ag Liú Lúnasa ná ardán a thabhairt do cheol comhaimseartha na Gaeilge. Táimid ag iarraidh ardán mór a chuir i gCearnóg na mBruach ar an 26 Lúnasa atá suite i lár chathair Bhéal Feirste chun an Ghaeilge a chur i lár an aonaigh agus an ceol iontach atá aici.

Beidh an cheolchoirm saor in aisce chun cinntiú go bhfuil deis ag achan duine freastal air ach tá costais mhóra ag baint leis. Táimid fíor-bhuíoch as an tacaíocht a fuair muid ó Iontaobhas na Gaelscolaíochta, Foras na Gaeilge agus An Chultúrlann ach níl go leor airgid againn go fóill chun íoc as an cheolchoirm. Seo na costais atá le clúdach.

Le do chuid tacaíochta, beidh tú ag tabhairt deis don Ghaeilge fás i gcathair Bhéal Feirste, chun ardán a thabhairt do cheoltóirí agus ealaíontóirí na Gaeilge. 

Creideann muid ag Liú Lúnasa gur infheistíocht iontach fiúntach é seo agus go bhfuil sé de dhith go géar chun freastal ar phobal na Gaeilge agus an gnáthphobal i mBéal Feirste.

Bheadh muid fíor-bhuíoch más féidir libh tacú linn inniu sa togra seo. Gealann muid go gcaithfear an t-airgead mar a ba chóir agus tcífidh sibh an déa-obair ar an 26 Lúnasa i gCearnóg na mBruach i mBéal Feirste. Bígí linn!

Liú Lúnasa - Belfast's Fringe Festival

With this being the third year of Liú Lúnasa in Belfast we are looking for your help to bring the festival to the next level.

Liú Lúnasa is a festival which looks to really push the boundaries of the Irish language. The festival focuses on art, community and music events in Irish. We want the festival to serve Irish speakers, learners and people who don't have any interaction with the language.

The festival will run this year from the 21st to the 27th of August. There will be a varied programme of events including drama, poetry, an intensive Irish language course, lunchtime concerts, storytelling, book launches and lots more. (We don't want to reveal all our secrets just yet!)

This year we would like to organise a concert in Bank Square (Outside Kelly's) with the newest Irish music.

One of Liú Lúnasa's aims is to provide a platform for contemporary Irish music. We want to erect a stage in Bank Square in the city centre on the 26th of August to put the Irish langauge and its music in the spotlight.

Admission to the concert will be free to ensure that everyone can attend but there are big costs to cover. We are very grateful for the support we have gotten from Iontaobhas na Gaelscolaíochta, Foras na Gaeilge and An Chultúrlann but we still don't have enough money to cover the concert's costs. These are the costs that need to be covered.

Stage - £1,300
Lights, sound equipment and technicians - £2,400
Security - £300

Your support will be giving the Irish language an opportunity to grow in Belfast city and to give Irish language musicians and artists a platform on which to perform.

We, in Liú Lúnasa, believe that this is a very worthwhile investment which is desperately needed to serve the Irish language community and others in Belfast.

We would be very grateful if you could support this project. We promise that the money will be spent well and you will see the fruits of this good work on the 26th of August in Bank Square in Belfast. See you there!
