Lise la Cour Legacy Fund
As her son, and professional ballet dancer, my mission is to carry on the vision of my mother, Lise la Cour, an unyielding positive force who had dreams which she did not have time to fulfill. We will use the funds collected to archive and preserve her children's ballets. Additionally, a scholarship fund will be created in her name, open to emerging dancers, choreographers, composers, and passionate creators who share Lise's vision of unbridled creativity but might not have the means to attend costly educational programs.
Any donation means support of the legacy Lise left behind, and an investment in future artists. Not only would financial support be received with immense gratitude from those working to preserve her ballets, but also from a student striving to reach their potential without the resources to go the distance.
The la Cour family
Big news for the Lise la Cour Legacy and its supporters, It has begun.
Manhattan Youth Ballet approached me not that long ago about doing one of her children's ballets.
With everything that is going on in the world these days The Ugly Duckling seemed like a perfect fit and would be challenging enough for every level at their school.
It gives the young talents an opportunity to perform a full story ballet in front of kids, young adults and anyone with a young heart.
The Ugly Duckling will make its comeback and will be performed at the Manhattan Youth Ballet Spring Workshop on March 10th-12th 2017.
